Amanda Graham

Yoga Instructor

Amanda was born in England and came to Canada as a child. She studied Anthropology at the University of British Columbia before beginning her career in Corrections. She later stepped away from the workforce to raise her three daughters, and in 1996, the family moved to Vancouver Island, which she has been proud to call home ever since.

Amanda first discovered Cedars in 2006, when she heard that the organization was opening in her neighbourhood. She felt that her education, work experience, and life experience would be a good fit, and happily, Cedars felt the same. She joined the team as a Community Support Worker and soon moved into the Discovery Program, where she found a meaningful place within the Cedars community. In 2011, Amanda travelled to India to complete her Yoga Teacher Training certification and has been sharing her passion for yoga and meditation with patients at Cedars ever since. This August marks an incredible 20 years with Cedars.

Outside of work, Amanda enjoys staying active through yoga, Pilates, hiking with her two dogs, gardening, and fishing along the West Coast. She is also an avid reader and loves to cook. In 2025, Amanda became a grandmother to two beautiful grandchildren, born less than three months apart and living in New York and Toronto. Travelling to spend time with them - and welcoming them to the Island - is now one of the highlights of her life.
