Born and raised on Vancouver Island, Corey has spent the last ten years of his life working in the healthcare field with a specialization in mental health and substance use. Currently living out of Saanich, Corey completed his Bachelors of Social Work in 2019 and will complete his Masters of Social Work in June 2026. Outside of work, Corey spends his spare time with his dog, Augustus, working on motorcycles, going on hikes, woodworking and fly fishing. Corey has spent the majority of his career working inpatient settings, including hospital and tertiary, as well as community MHSU teams in downtown Nanaimo and Vancouvers Downtown Eastside. He has experienced addiction and mental health issues firsthand, having struggled with these issues for most of his life. Now with five years of recovery through the 12 step method, Corey strives to bring his experience, passion and desire to support his community and help others forward on the road of recovery.
