Eric Vance
Community Support Worker
Eric is originally from Saskatoon and has called Vancouver Island home for more than 10 years. Before entering the human-services field, he spent over a decade working as a utility arborist. While he still enjoys the rush of climbing trees, he eventually felt called to take his career in a new direction.
Eric began university two years ago and is now pursuing a Bachelor of Social Work at Vancouver Island University. His commitment to supporting others is also deeply connected to his involvement in 12-step recovery, where he has held a variety of service positions over the years.
Eric's own experience at Cedars was transformative and played an important role in his recovery. Today, he is grateful for the opportunity to work here and hopes to have the same kind of positive impact on others that people once had on him.
Outside of work and school, Eric enjoys staying active and spending time on the things he loves, including playing lots of golf, and some baseball.
