Estelle Sinclair
Elder
Born in England of multiracial ancestors, Estelle moved to British Columbia in 1965. Here, she has been a mother to many (“I raised or partly raised thirty-odd kids …that’s not including the street youth who stayed with me for various amounts of time.”) She has run an early childhood ed./daycare center and holds a high school teaching credential.
Estelle has unusual spiritual gifts that surfaced at a young age. “I had visions about the Baha’I faith without being able to put a name on it, and they came to fruition.” Prayers from an early-days Baha’I youth and his parents protected her in infancy when a German bomb was dropped in her yard; although it was active, it did not explode.
Estelle has been involved with the Indigenous/First Nations community in Canada for over 40 years. She is a sweat-lodge facilitator, a pipe-carrier, a sundancer, and a member of the Spirit Drummers. She has led workshops in West Coast and Plains Native cultures in the schools in England. She pioneered to Taiwan in the early 90s. In addition, she is a counsellor, an NLP practitioner, and certified in Reiki, massage therapy, and other healing modalities. Estelle currently lives in Duncan, on Vancouver Island; she spends most of her days in service.
