Kayla Fortin
Community Support Worker
Kayla was born and raised on Vancouver Island, where she grew up as a competitive soccer player and a natural people person. From a young age, she has been passionate about helping others and driven by a desire to make a meaningful difference in her community.
Kayla is deeply committed to fostering an emotionally intelligent and supportive environment for all. Her personal experiences with loved ones affected by addiction have shaped her into a compassionate and empathetic communicator, equipping her with valuable skills in de-escalation and trauma-informed care.
In 2022, Kayla graduated with honors from a paralegal program and gained experience working in both private and public law firms, specializing in litigation. While she found success in the legal field, her passion for helping others ultimately inspired a career shift.
Kayla is now pursuing a career in the clinical field with a focus on addiction services, where she hopes to bring her lived experience and professional skills to those most in need. In her free time, Kayla enjoys playing sports, hiking the trails of Vancouver Island, and spending time with her many beloved animals.
