Marichka was born and raised in Kyiv, Ukraine. She came to Canada in 2022 and settled in Victoria Downtown. Marichka is pursuing a bachelor's degree in Psychology with a special interest in psychopathology and ethnocentric psychology. She is passionate about involvement in the local community and has volunteered at various community support spaces, such as Revocanda Plus, Cowichan Green Community, and the Peer Support Centre at UVic.

Outside of work, Marichka enjoys exploring the Gulf Islands and singing with fellow Ukrainians in the Motanka choir.
